Faresaver is a bus company operating in the South West England, particularly Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. It operates a fleet of almost 40 single-deck buses on 22 both commercial and council contract public bus services.
Faresaver took over the 228 service from First Bristol in 2008: First were claiming it was unprofitable and so the company stepped in to take the route for Wiltshire County Council.
In 2011 Faresaver ceased operating four bus services after coach parking charges in Bath increased.[1]
Ticketing[]
A range of tickets are available to passengers. These include the nationwide standard single and return, and concessionary passes for senior citizens. Children under five are not charged. Students (with identification) and older children are charged lower fares. The Wiltshire Rover is accepted by all bus operators in Wiltshire, including Faresaver. Additional ticketing schemes include the Avonrider, Bathweek, Weeksaver and Faresaver Eleven.[2]
Incidents[]
In 2001 a Faresaver minibus was involved in an incident when scaffolding became detached from a lorry[3]
In 2013 a Faresaver bus driver was arrested for drink driving and subsequently sacked.[4]
